The musicians of the Heveder Band may be young, but they carry on a long tradition. They play Hungarian, Romanian, and Roma folk music that comes straight from the villages of Transylvania and Hungary. The band members come from the largely Hungarian populated cityof Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe) in eastern Transylvania (Romania). Founded in 2002, Heveder has since become an all-time favorite at festivals and folkdance events throughout Transylvania.
The band has toured Hungary, Romania, and Western Europe, as well as the United States. Band members: Fazakas Levente – violin, Molnar Szabolcs – violin, Fazakas Albert – viola and cimbalom, Szilágyi László – viola and accordion, Bajna György – double bass and gardon.
